KEREMCEM

“Kerem” of the Turkish Television Series called “KeremandAsli, “Sarp” of the “Ask Oyunu” (Love Game), and “Ali” of the “KimseBilmez” (Nobody Knows)... He is a man of love who touches our lives with his voice and acting. He listens to his heart at all times that makes his uniqueness with his sincerity. The array of talents he has takes him to a privileged lane.

A pair of smoky eyes and his voice is heard.

You had already gone honey, I noticed that

I was too late to realise it

This is why I act to be puzzled

After a long break, you surprised us with your new song, “You had already gone” (Gitmissin coktan)? We would like to listen to its impression on you.

The music of the “You had already gone” is arranged by Gokhan Tepe and the songwriter is Sebnem Sungur. It is a very special song that the first time I listened to it five years ago it blew my mind and my emotions and made me say that I had to sing it. Primarily there were the television series and acting and then I managed to make it happen today:

Dear Mehmet Turgut thought of a black and white video clip and wanted to show a Keremcem who has locked the power of his words inside his guitar. I think it suits the song very well.

What does the movie, "Love comes if you call", which will soon be released, promise the audience?

The movie was shot in Ordu. It is an amazing city for its people, nature and for several aspects it has. It affected me a lot, it was my first visit, but it will definitely not be my last. Everywhere in the Black Sea soil is revealing green. The city, Ordu, is one of kind in Turkey that has a mountain with a ski centre, which is very close to the sea. It is to be my first experience in a movie to be seen at movie-theatres. It has been a beautiful and enjoyable film where firsts met. It will come out on the 29th of May. I hope it will be bountiful, the audience appreciates it. I hope that it will be seen and appreciated by the audience.

Does which one overweight in your dreams of today and tomorrow; music or acting?

Today is so difficult to answer this question however it is easy for me. If you asked me the same question three years ago, I would say it was difficult; if you asked fifteen years ago, I would say acting would make no sense but today, I enjoy doing both. My works are appreciated by the listeners and the watchers. I feel lucky about it. This is what I can say; I have a lot to do both for music and acting.

Which characters you have played impressed you the most?

You learn to see the world in the eyes of each character you play. The beginning phase of a project is to have an instant connection with the character, his past, his future, and his dreams. The character you last played has the most impact on you as he is the one whom you were together with last. Therefore, I have had an instant connection with the character called “Ali” of the series “Nobody knows”. Because of his conscience, his way of looking at events, his perspective on love and his way of experiencing his pain, the character, "Ali", was among the characters I felt very close to. The character, Sarp, in the "Love Game" that I first played is, of course, my indispensable character as it is the project where I appeared before the cameras for the first time. The other character I played is the “Oktay Mert” of the “Never Again”.

How was the AkustiKaravan born, where would this journey lead to?

While thinking about how to be able to share more different, faster and more natural content, I realised that YouTube is a channel that contains them. While we were in the caravan on the set of “Nobody Knows”, we decided that the name of the channel would be “AkustiKaravan”. It is very good that people from the set, the actors, some other actor friends of mine and I sang. I had a chance to get my guitar in my hands and compose songs or play the songs I have had.

That is to say, I like this speed. I decided to release my songs via YouTube and shot a video clip for my song, “You have already gone”, and published it on my page. There are more projects to be produced by us that we are planning them now.

What things make you feel good while working hard or what feeds Keremcem?

I like to travel and stroll around. I used to like being alone more but now it makes me happy to have conversations with the people I care for or to share something with them. I am trying to spend my time with my family as much as I can. My friends from university and I still see each other from time to time as they are valuable to me. I like to have people around me. When I am by myself, it is indispensable for me to play the guitar, sing songs and make songs.

What would you tell us if we would like to hear from your soul and your point of view about Milas and Mugla where you spent your childhood?

Milas is the place where I was born; I studied in Sakarya Elementary School and our house is still on Bag Street. My family lives in Bodrum. The high school years when I started to play the guitar, the friend environments on the beach in Gulluk…These are the places where I realised my voice was liked and singing was joyful for me. Then Bodrum became an important place in my childhood. Before moving to Istanbul, I had played the guitar and sang songs on the streets of Bodrum.
